I recently picked up a wonderful group of old real photo postcards that I wanted to share.
The postcards all came from the collection of a young sailor who sent postcards back home to his family in Plainfield NJ during the 50s. Through his postcards sent, he takes us on a tour of his new home in Vallejo CA, with all the local landmarks highlighted! The backs are all quite fun to read!
It was interesting to find that Vallejo is the largest city in Solano County California. It's the tenth most populous city in the San Francisco Bay Area, and is located on the northeastern shore of San Pablo Bay. Vallejo is named for General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo.
